President's Message:
Dear friends,
I have the honor of assuming the job of the President of Gujarati Samaj of Cleveland (GSCG) succeeding Mr. Rajesh Patel.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank executives, members, volunteers, and community for their confidence in me, support, and well wishes. I am proud to announce Mrs. Mayurika Shah who has been elected to serve as the treasurer. Mrs. Shah is committed to the organization and did a wonderful job as program director last year.
Mr. Sunil Desai will continue to be the secretary. Mr. Desai has invaluable skill for keeping meticulous details of our meetings and I am thrilled to have him on my team.
I couldn’t be happier that Mr. Kamal Nanavaty will once again serve as program director. Mr. Nanavaty is no stranger to this organization as he has served with passion and tenacity over the years with GSGC.
Two new members to the executive committee are Mr. Nilesh Patel, who will serve as program director, and Mr. Dilip Nagarsheth as membership director.
I will miss Kaushal Shah and deserve the many thanks from all of us for designing our web site www.clevelandgujaratisamaj.org and as editor of Garvi Gujarat newsletter. His job will be now be headed by Mr. Kanak Amin.
Mr. Chirag Dave who has tireless devoted his time to the organization in the past will again enthusiastically continue to be youth director, and bring fun entertainment again this year.
On behalf of all members and friends of GSGC, I want to thank Mr. Rajesh Patel for his leadership, service and friendship. Rajesh loved GSGC and deeply cared about the success of the organization and each of its members.
I am devoted not only to continuing GSGC’s goals but to the expansion and development of this important organization, particularly in the role of educating our new generation and other communities about our rich culture, history, environment and citizenship in our adapted city of greater Cleveland.
Over the coming weeks and months I look forward to meeting all members and volunteers. I appreciate your suggestions and help to improve and expand our organization.
Our success lies in the efforts of all of us. Volunteers, who like our executives committee, trustee committee and I, are neither paid nor compensated in any way. We all serve because of love to our country and honoring our heritage.
This is an exciting time for GSGC, together we can find new ways, better ways, to build a dynamic society serving the Guajarati community in this country.
